SEMA 2014 Preview: Volkswagen Beetle R gets RWB treatment

RWB-VW-Beetle-for-tuned

Famed Japanese Porsche tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff (RWB) and Volkswagen rallycross driver Tanner Foust have collaborated to customize a 2014 Beetle R that will debut at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas this week.

The said vehicle is the first Beetle project for RWB’s Akira Nakai who is known for its work with Porsche 911s and the Japanese tuner says the Beetle looks a little bit like a Porsche.

“The Beetle is a very good car and it looks like a Porsche a little bit. It is similar, but a Beetle is not a Porsche, so we made a completely new design for this Beetle,” said Nakai.

The 2014 Volkswagen Beetle R sits on custom Motegi Racing Traklite wheels (18×10 front and 18×12 rear), built specifically with a one-off stepped lip and comes with an RWB wide body kit. The vehicle also features Volkswagen’s R-Line accessories that includes an upgraded shift knob and pedal set.
