Honda Performance Development supercharges the CR-Z

Owners of the 2013 and 2014 Honda CR-Zs can now add more power to the 1.5-liter engine as Honda Performance Development (HPD) of USA recently introduced a supercharger kit that is now available in all Honda dealerships in the USA.

The kit itself will only be available for manual variants of the CR-Z and will include HPD’s own air-to-air intercooler, high flow fuel injectors, a reworked ECU that meets CARB AT-PZEV regulations with 91 octane fuel rating, an air filter and a sport exhaust system. Maximum power has been increased to 200 PS over the factory figure of 132 PS.

For those that want to extract more performance out of their CR-Z, HPD is also offering an optional LSD and sport clutch upgrade. Chassis improvements are also available and will include HPD sport dampers, coil springs with reduced ride height, 300mm diameter disc rotors and HPD 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Completing the package is a front lip, tail spoilers, a rear diffuser and a HPD badge.

The SRP of the supercharger kit is at $5,495 (around PHP 240,690) and does not include dealership installation fee. The upgrade will not void the car’s 5 year/60,000mi powertrain warranty if installed by a Honda dealership.
