Honda gives a glimpse of the next-generation Civic Type R

Honda Civic Type R 1

After whetting our appetite with a teaser video of the all-new Civic Type R two weeks ago, Honda recently released some images along with new info about the 2015 Civic Type R.

Up front it has an aerodynamically designed bumper which hinders air turbulence around the front wheels, reducing drag and enhancing high-speed stability. At the back it will be fitted with a fixed rear wing along with a diffuser. It also has a completely flat underside which according to Honda, optimizes downforce and keeps the car planted to the ground.

It has 19-inch Type R wheels unique to the Civic and helping it stop better is a high performance front Brembo brake kit that is comprised of 350mm cross-drilled rotors and four-piston calipers.

Inside, it has a red themed cluster gauge along with a steering wheel with red stitching. Also present is the R+ feature that enhances throttle and handling response and a push-start button.

The 2015 Honda Civic is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter VTEC engine that enables the car to have a top speed of 270 km/h. Exact output ratings of the engine are yet to be released by the Japanese automaker.

It is slated to be revealed during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
